Chosen Answer:

If you have rosacea it is possible to spread to your eyes, it`s called ocular rosacea. Over the counter stuff is a waste of money so you need to go to the dermatologist and if you do, he/she will prescribe and oral antibiotic such as minocycline and a topical cream like metro gel or cream. If left untreated it can get worse, there is no cure only ways to get control of it.

Chosen Answer:

Hello Star.

first of all GO TO THE DOCTOR.

IT can take ages with natural products to see any improvements apparently and also you may have to take products for a prolonged period. You could start with Vitamin B then add vitamin c . Vitamin B deficiency can be common in people with rosacea. Vitamin C strengthens the membranes that line the blood vessels and the connective tissue between skin cells. It also minimises the release of histamine, a chemical that widens blood vessels in response to allergies. Zinc helps to heal the top layer of the skin and regulates levels of vitamin A. Add copper for long term use. The essential fatty acids in fish oils or flax seed oil reduce inflammation. Its not wise to take zinc long term so you have to look this stuff up on one of the recommended sites on the other participants answers. OTHER THINGS YOU CAN DO Use fragrance free, greasless make up and facial cleansers and never astringents. never rub your skin . Cool your face with cooled down strong chamomile and marigold tea. I really hope some of this helps you. Well at least if you don’t like the advice it may make you look into it more thoroughly.

Chosen Answer:

Sensible diet, good hygiene and low stress should keep acne away. Try some great OTC products like Niapads, Cetaphil etc. Remember, the most effective treatment is one that is simple to use. For eg. cut a piece of Niapads, moisten it with water and place it on the yet to come to surface acne. Active ingredients penetrate skin and get rid of acne bacteria. Routine use of Niapads helps exfoliate, open clogged skin pores and gets rid of acne in one simple step without drying your skin. Contains Lavender oil – well known moisturizer. Niapads will remove your rosacea, worked for me, try it.

Chosen Answer:

I use Aqua Glycolic cleanser for my rosacea, seb derm and adult acne. It is only – for a 6 ounce pump bottle at the drugstore but you have to go to the pharmacy counter and ask for it (even though it is not prescription, for some reason it is not out on the shelf like other facial cleansers.) CVS ordered it for me and it arrived in one day. I researched rosacea treatments using google scholar and found that dermatologists are using glycolic acid peels to treat rosacea. However, that is expensive so the glycolic cleanser is what I’m using. My skin has never looked so good. BE SURE to use this cleanser on dry skin as water changes the pH and makes it ineffective. Start out using it once per day then go to twice a day and avoid the eye area. I leave it on for about 5 minutes then hop in the shower or splash it off with tepid water in the bathroom sink. Dermatologists are not sure how glycolic acid helps but one theory is that it kills skin mites that MIGHT be a factor in rosacea. As for foods, avoid alcohol and spicy foods. If you have a flareup, you can use cortisone cream on it for a few days but you can’t use cortisone long term as it will cause your skin to get thinner. That’s why you want to avoid flares. Absolutely use sunblock with BOTH UVA and UVB protection, like Neutrogena Age Shield 45 because the rosacea is enough of a challenge by itself.

Chosen Answer:

I too have rosacea..I use a sensitive face wipe to remove my makeup and that’s it..I do not use anything else..Scrubs and face masks only make mine worse..Have you been to the dermatologist? I went a couple years ago and I used a cream for about a year and it’s like 70 percent better now..I quite using it because my prescription ran out, but I’m going to go back and get a new prescription because it helps so much with the redness.

I was told by my doctor to completely stop taking any medication, since the baby could be born with birth deffects. Someone told me that because the creams are only topical, the absorbtion would be so low that it would not harm the baby.

Did you deal with Rosacea while being pregnant? What did you do? I don’t care so much about the redness, but what about the itchiness?

Thanks in advance.

Chosen Answer:

I went to a dermatologist who gave me all natural safe creams to help with itchness and it even helped with the redness. My favorite thing to do every other night was to apply a mask of avocado/honey/egg (all mixed together) for about twenty mins. It really helped. On the no mask nights I would use a neutrogena cleanser with alpha hydroxy acids.

Chosen Answer:

You are right you shouldn’t have rosacea at your age and this doesn’t sound like it. Even if it is it is not severe enough to require treatment. Maybe something else in the environment is causing you to flush. Sometime common food additives such as nitrates or monosodium glutamate can have that effect, more so in some people than in others. If you are fair skinned maybe this is simply part of your normal physiology. I wouldn’t be too worried about it.
